Care
and cleaning of your new windows

Do not remove the sashes when cleaning.
The bottom sash of single-hung tilts for easy cleaning. Note only the bottom.
Double hung windows
both top and bottom tilt in for easy
cleaning.
Raise the bottom sash 3” before tilting. Bring down the top sash stay
3” above the bottom sash. Sashes should be laying on top each other.
Do not lean or push on the glass in this position. The
glass could brake if not handled correctly.
Using a lintless cloth,
sponge or chamois to clean the glass can clean both glass panels. NOTE The use of
rubber squeegee will speed glass drying.
A mild household detergent solution may be used to clean
the interior and exterior surfaces of the main window and sash frames of vinyl
windows.
DO NOT USE HARSH ABRASIVE PARTICLE DETERGENTS, PAINT
REMOVERS OR SOLVENTS FOR CLEANING. THE USE OF HARSH POWDERED DETERGENTS CAN
CAUSE SCRATCHES & RUIN THE SURFACE.
WERE
AND WHEN TO LUBRICATE
TO
MAKE SASHES GLIDE UP & DOWN SMOOTHLY, SIMPLY SPRAY SILICONE LUBRICANT
SPARINGLY ON THE BALANCES (THE MECHANICAL PARTS, EITHER COIL OR SPIRAL, THAT
COUNTER BALANCE THE WEIGHT OF THE SASHES) YOU MAY CLEAN THE BALANCES WITH
ALCOHOL OR A SOAPY SOLUTION.
DO THIS AFTER YOU CLEAN THE GLASS ONLY IF NEEDED!
NOTE ONLY LUBRICATE IF THE WINDOW IS MOVING HARD. THIS WILL MAKE THE SASHES GO UP AND DOWN SMOOTHER.

MANUFACTURER'S PRECAUTIONARY SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE CONTAINER LABEL.
